On which side should I get my tragus pierced?

Either side will look fine. As for the jewelry - ask the piercer what they use. Each of mine was done by a different person, 1 used a long stud, the other used a hoop (i preferred the stud, easier to clean & move around while healing). I'm sure you can request a stud.
